Design Concerns

We decided to design a carbon fiber tree climbing stand to utilize its lightweight and strength properties. We eventually came down to 2 designs that potential customers indicated were preferred. The first and second design used screws and had steps made from a carbon fiber sandwich panel with a foam core. A design concerns table was created to compare the two designs and see how they matched up in areas such as strength, recyclability, and cost. Ultimately we decided on the first design to produce and manufacture. 

The table above depicts the design aspects we determined were most important for our product and their corresponding assessment measures. The preliminary design ideas were evaluated and compared using these standards.
