Upcoming Legislative Session
The next Model Legislature session is scheduled for Thursday, November 16th and Friday, November 17th at Winona State University’s Education Village. Follow the steps below to register for the upcoming session.
Step 1 – Advisor Registration
Teachers bringing students to the upcoming session will be added to our Model Legislature Online web application as “Advisors.” Please contact Rep. Gene Pelowski if you are interested in being an advisor. Please include the name of your school and the number of students you intend to bring.
Step 2 – Student Registration
Once you have an Advisor account in our Model Legislature Online application, you will be able to register the student participants in your delegation. The Model Legislature support team can also help you register your students as needed. Follow these instructions to register your students. The following information about each student participant is required:
- Delegation (i.e., school)
- Firstname
- Lastname
- Email address
- Year in school
- Previous Model Legislature participation (in years)
- Chamber (i.e., House, Senate)
- Committee assignment
- Commerce
- Education
- Environment and Agriculture
- General Legislation
- Health and Human Services
- Judiciary
- Rules
- Transportation
- Ways and Means/Taxes
- Reserved bill*
- House File (or)
- Senate File
*A unique House or Senate file must be reserved by each participant. If a bill is selected that is already taken, a notification is displayed and another bill can be entered. Advisors can access a list of bills already reserved and unavailable in the Model Legislature Online application.
