As a team, we each came up with a design to meet the design concerns and the feedback we received from customer surveys. We then evaluated each one and picked the top two designs. From here, we completed an analysis report and a decision matrix to narrow down to the final design.
Our first design is more of a typical walker. It comes with a few different upgrades to a basic design including a seat, storage, cane holder, and front wheels. The handles will be adjustable so that the user can find their most comfortable position.
Our second design is something more abstract than any other walker on the market. It features a “c” shaped base that has an adjustable back support that can slide up and down. In addition, there are 4 wheels and removable handles that can serve as a cane. This walker will be very versatile and includes a lot of storage options underneath the seat.
Ultimately, we decided on Design 1 to take forward into manufacturing.
