Top & Bottom Panels

A 20” X 20” panel was laid up, carbon-honeycomb-wood-honeycomb-carbon, and put into the Fuchs press, heated and pressure applied. A layer of A&P Technology woven fabric was hand laid up on each side of the panel. The panel was then cut into an 18” circle and a layer of prepreg was wrapped and bonded around the edge. Hooks were drilled into both in a hexagonal shape, 0.5” from the edge.

Legs

The same type of sandwich panel was laid up but was 15” X 20”. The shape of the leg was cut by a CNC machine. A hook was drilled into each leg so that one leg had a hook on one end facing down and the other leg had a hook on the other end facing up. Legs were screwed into the top and bottom surface on the perimeter of the panels.

Cables

The middle cable was looped, crimped, and cut to be 8”. The  six outside cables were looped, crimped, cut, and gripple locked on one end to be 20”.

Assembly

The top and bottom were aligned so the legs were parallel, and hooks were above and below each other. The 8” cable was then attached to the leg hooks. The six 20” cables were attached to the outside hooks and tension was adjusted so the table was level.
