Jamie Ho

Jamie Ho is a photographer who was born and raised in the suburbs of Fort Myers, FL. She received her BFA from the University of New Mexico and is currently pursuing her MFA in photography at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. In recent works, she has enjoyed revisiting her childhood home and carrying this throughout as a subject in her work.

Jamie writes, “Canton Gulf is an ongoing photographic series that aims to preserve and examine my parents’ legacy and question if home is defined by geography or by embedded traditions. The work is a rediscovery of the place I have forgotten over the years of holidays passing without my return. Not only does it touch on universal themes of home and domesticity, but it also explores the American Dream through the eyes of my immigrant family.”
