WSU Design Program

Let Us Design For You

Partner up with our creative students and faculty to carry out impactful projects.

The cornerstone of the educational model at Winona State Design Program is the concept of live projects where our students compete by providing innovative solutions on a variety of topics for the different community- and corporate-related clients. Initially, the projects are housed in an upper-division class (either ART 365 Campaign & Systems Design or ART 398 Creative Practices) under the supervision and guidance of a faculty member. Once the client chooses the final direction of the project a contract is signed between the client and the winning team and the projects are conducted outside of the class setting.

Most corporate-related projects are associated with Senior Design students in ART 365 Campaign & Systems Design. Most community-related projects are associated with a mix of Junior and Sophomore  Design students in ART 398 Creative Practices. This type of approach benefits both the students and clients providing valuable experience and quality visual solutions. This type of project is handles in a competitive setting between three of four teams per class mimicking real-life agency structure and experience.

If you are interested in collaborating please visit the Partnership Forms page to initiate a discussion on the type and form of partnership. Please note that there are two types of forms—Campaign Class Partnership Form and Community Partnership Form.
